Expenses


A. Tuition Fees

Students from the
European Union or the wider European Economic Area don’t pay tuition fees for
higher education in Denmark.  Similarly,
if you are participating in an exchange programme, your studies are free. You
also don’t pay for tuition if you have a:

 •permanent residence permit (‘Permanent
opholdstilladelse’)

 •temporary residence permit that can be
upgraded to a permanent one (‘Midlertidig opholdstilladelse mmf varigt
ophold’).

 •parent from a non-EU/EEA country who is
already working in Denmark

All other students have
to pay tuition fees. Annual tuition fees for full-time degree students range
from 6,000 to 16,000 Euros.

How to Apply to the University


1. Check with the
departments to see if there is a closing date for your application.

2. You should write
directly to the Institution's Admission Office for detailed application
information and forms.

3. You can also
download application form from university website.

4. Some universities
have an on-line application facility.

5. Admission Office
will inform you about the documentation, translation, and visa requirements.

6. You should start
at least one year in advance to compile the necessary information and
documentation.

7. The decision of
the institution is usually announced within approximately six to eight months
of the application deadline.

Other Information


A. Medical Insurance


1. Your eligibility for public health
services depends on your country of origin, the duration of your stay in Denmark
and your financial situation. With regard to hospitalization for non-EU
students (Bangladeshi Students are Non EU Students), if you are undertaking a
full time course of study for at least one year, you are classed as
"ordinarily resident" in Denmark, and are therefore entitled to
public patient facilities.


2. The major universities and institutes of
technology have medical centers on campus, or arrangements with General
Practitioners (GPs) based nearby. This is a free service. If you are unable to
see the doctor at your university, GPs are widely available in Denmark and
their services can be obtained at most times of the day. They generally charge about?
40 for a consultation. For more information on public healthcare entitlements,

B. Working in Denmark


If you are a Nordic, EU/EEA or Swiss citizen,
there are no restrictions to the number of hours you can work in Denmark while
you study.


 Students
from the rest of the world may work in Denmark for up to 15 hours a week, as
well as full-time during the months of June, July and August. However, it
requires a work permit sticker in your passport.


 If you
were not granted a work permit when you received your permission to study in
Denmark, you can apply for it at the Danish Immigration Service.



C. Jobs in Denmark


Some international students find work in bars
or restaurants. Others distribute newspapers, work in telemarketing or get jobs
where certain language skills are required. A few find employment relevant to
their studies. Some academic institutions have online job banks or career center
that can assist you in finding a student job.

earn from 6 to 20 EURO per hour



D. Credit Transfer Facility


1. Students may apply for credit transfer
program at undergraduate or postgraduate level in Denmark.


2. The maximum amount of credit that may be
granted normally is not greater than 50% of the course.


3. Most of the Danish universities consider
minimum "B" grade for acceptance.


4. You have to submit the following documents to your
target university:


a. Your application form for the
Undergraduate or Postgraduate coursework program


b. Official copies of your academic
transcript


c. Also include an official letter from head
of the school/department of your university, from where you have already
completed the courses.


d. Detailed course outlines (Official Copy)
including subject descriptions, methods of teaching and assessment, reading
lists, number of hours of teaching etc.


e. The academic level you are studying (e.g.
First Year, Second Year etc.)


f. How many credits you have completed


g. An explanation of the grading system used
at your institution.


h. Information on the total units of study
requirement (i.e. how many credits are required) for the completion of the
degree.
